If your child has any special medical needs, please give us a call to see if we can accommodate him or her!

June - August: 315-784-5481
Through modified program schedules and/or modified supervision, Camp Y-Owasco is able to accommodate certain special medical needs, such as an injured limb and common mental/emotional needs. Unfortunately, we are not equipped to accommodate severe mental/emotional needs, such as severe autism, severe emotional & behavioral disorders, and severe developmental delays. Additional supervision is NOT available every session, so please contact the camp director to see if your camper can be accommodated in your desired session. Camp is extremely hilly, so if mobility may be an issue, please contact the camp director to see if your child can be accommodated.
If there is a dietary restriction or allergy, please let us know so we can plan ahead to accommodate your child. If camp cannot accommodate your child’s dietary restrictions, we often allow parents to bring special food, which is stored and prepared by our kitchen staff.
If the camper takes any medication for his or her special need, we require him or her to take it at camp just as he or she would at school. Please see the “Medications” section of the Parent Handbook for more information.
There is a certified and experienced nurse on site to assist campers who need a little extra medical help or attention. However, please give us a call to see if we can accommodate your child’s special medical needs.
