Oktor (Andrew Rotko) - Cabin Counselor
Hello, my name is Andrew Rotko, but here at Camp Y-Owasco I go by the name of "Oktor." I'm 20 years old and was born and raised in Auburn, NY. I recently graduated from Cayuga Community College with a degree in Humanities and Social Sciences. In my time at Cayuga I played soccer and in the off season was an intern with the athletic trainer. I plan to transfer to a four-year college where I will major in Athletic Training/Sports Medicine. I am a HUGE sports fan and have been playing them my entire life. I look forward to playing soccer at whatever school I enroll at next. Along with soccer, which I have played for 15 years, I played basketball, ran track, and played football at Auburn High (yes, I was on that awesome 2006 state championship team). Some other hobbies of mine include kayaking, canoeing, swimming, and anything else water-related.
I came to work at Camp Y-Owasco in the summer of 2010 because as a kid I never got the experience of camp…and I sure am glad I did! I also love working with kids because they're so fun and energetic and have such unique minds. I’m excited to be back at camp again this summer and look to better myself as a counselor. I look forward to meeting many new campers, as well as reuniting with the returning campers. I also plan on teaching the campers important life lessons as well as incorporating our four core values here at camp which are caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. I'm sure my second summer will be even better than my first!
