Papi (Hector Laureano) - Food Service Staff

Hi!  My name is Hector and I am 20 years old and live in Auburn. I am one of the camp's kitchen staff. I am very fortunate to have this job for several reasons, but most of all because this fall I will be headed off to the New England Culinary Institute in Montpellier, Vermont. I believe that the experiences I will have at camp will help give me a better idea as to what kind of career I am headed into. Cooking has become my life in the last three or four years. It all started with my addiction to Good Eats hosted by Alton Brown on the Food Network. I had the great fortune to meet Mr. Brown last February and he had some very kind words of encouragement. Aside from cooking I enjoy movies and most of all comic books. When I’m not in the kitchen you can usually find me enjoying one of the aforementioned activities. I am looking forward to this summer and all of the fun and challenges it will bring. Most of all I am looking forward to inspiring your children and making sure that they have fun and enjoy the food.
