Shane (Sarah Del Favero) - Cabin Counselor
Hi! My name is Sarah Del Favero, a.k.a. “Shane” at Camp Y-Owasco. I am nineteen years old and from Auburn, New York. I was on the YMCA swim team for three years and have taught swim lessons at the YMCA for four years. I have taken dance classes since I was young and still continue to do so. Throughout my high school years, I became involved with several community theaters in the area. I am currently pursuing my bachelor’s degree from SUNY Brockport. At Brockport I completed the first year of the leadership program. I also received a Dean’s academic scholarship award and was recently nominated to be historian for the student-led theatre club. I am a double major in Arts for Children and Theatre. I love working with children, and camp is the perfect setting to do that!
The summer of 2009 was my first year working at Camp Y-Owasco. Now, two years later, I am thrilled to be back! I have many fond memories of camp and I look forward to being with your child over the summer.
Camp Y-Owasco is an experience like no other. One of the main reasons I decided to return to Camp Y-Owasco was simply because I missed it. I loved being right by the lake. I loved all of the fun games I both learned and taught. Most importantly, I loved working at camp because it helped me become a better person as I helped campers grow themselves. Making a difference in the lives of children is an amazing opportunity that just cannot compare to any other summer job.
This summer I am looking forward to being outside, making friends, and campfire stories. I am very excited to an amazing summer with your child at Camp Y-Owasco!
